Now that we know who is in the governor’s race, the picture is starting to become clearer.
Governor Abbott is staring to distance himself from Beto O’Rourke.
The latest Dallas Morning News poll has Abbott leading 46-39 percent.
Getting Some Distance
Before the primary, Beto was getting far too close, but I stated at the time I thought that was a bit of an aberration because of a large Republican field.
Abbott, as I predicted, came out on top, and now he is starting to get some distance from Beto…

The tell-tale sign that this is becoming a formality is those that are locked in on their vote.
Of those now supporting Abbott, 71 percent are locked in, whereas Beto only has 46 percent of his vote locked in.
Beto would destroy this state and even though more and more liberals are coming into the state from California, I still don’t believe they have the numbers to pose a serious threat to Republicans living in the governor’s mansion.
This state will stay red, and Beto will be sent packing for the third straight time in a general election.
