POLL: Trump Slipping Among GOP Voters

We all know one poll is not a break or make situation.

We need to see a trend before taking the results seriously, as one poll can always be an outlier, while two gets your attention, and three in a row is definitely showing a shift.

Well, the latest YouGov poll on Trump shows a shift, but it is only the first time, but if I were Trump and Republicans, this is something I would start to monitor.

The Big Shift

The key aspect of this poll is its timing.

In October, Trump was polling at 86 percent approval rating among GOP voters.

In this latest poll, that number was down to 76 percent, with 54 percent having a “very favorable” view of Trump.

NBC News ran a poll in January, and those numbers had a similar trend.

That poll had Republican voters supporting the party more than Trump by 20 points, which was a massive 39-point shift.

The timing issue is that October was when Trump really started getting vocal again, and by December and January, he was full tilt on pushing the election again.

Again, it is the first run of two different polls, but it is the beginning of a trend.

Personally, I think Trump needs to stop pushing the 2020 election.

He has to make it about the people and not about himself losing the election.

Americans are feeling the pinch, so start talking about making us energy independent to get costs back in line.

Talk about halting the open border policies of Joe Biden.

Talk about lifting mandates that have been crushing our workforce.

Talk about things that will help the American people, not things that hurt your ego.

I am not saying he needs to forget about the election, but he can wait to address it until he or another Republican takes office.

I think if he does that, he can launch investigations into whatever he wants after the 2025 inauguration.

What do you guys think? What strategy do you think Trump should start using or do you just want to see someone else run in 2024?

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
