Of all Trump’s former staffers, nobody has been more loyal than former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Pompeo held a press conference to raise concerns about Mehmet Oz, better known as Dr. Oz, who Trump backs.
Oz is running against Dave McCormick, who has been endorsed by Pompeo, among others.
We Have a Problem
I am with Pompeo on this one because I believe Oz is a very weak candidate.
I don’t trust screaming liberals that suddenly change teams, and Oz was a liberal, make no mistake about that.
He has a history of anti-conservative posts, and I just don’t trust him.
Trump believes he has seen the light and will serve as a strong conservative, but I disagree.
What I think does not matter, however, as it is the voters in PA that have to have enough confidence in him to elect him.
Pompeo, on Oz, stated, “We criticize American candidates all the time because they didn’t vote.
“This is different from that. Not only did he not engage in the American [process] but he engaged in the Turkish political process.
“That raises in my mind a lot of judgments about his priority.”
The former Secretary of State added, “Maybe it’s all innocent, maybe it’s all straight up, but we and the people of Pennsylvania and the Americans who he will be representing as one of the 100 members of the United States Senate voting on important national security matters need to understand the scope and depth of his relationship with the Turkish government.”
In touting McCormick, Pompeo concluded, “This isn’t about whether it’s lawful, it’s about who is best suited to be the next United States senator from Pennsylvania that’s been represented by a patriotic American conservative for an awfully long time.”
Oz’s team has responded by calling the attacks xenophobic… which sounds like a liberal response.
