A rather interesting story surfaced on Friday regarding a police-involved shooting in Portland, OR.

It was interesting in the fact the police immediately revealed the race of the individual shot by police.

The deceased was identified as a “white male” soon after the shooting was reported so as to avoid another riot.

Prevent the Riot

The big trend we have seen in suspect and shooting reports is that the individual’s race is being withheld from public view, at least initially.

If someone is murdered, the suspect’s race is often hidden from reports if immediately caught.

When there is a police-involved shooting, the race is not always immediately disclosed.

In this case, however, it was because police were afraid a riot would begin unless they identified the suspect as “white.”

ANTIFA had reportedly started to circulate flyers claiming the police had shot a black male to get everyone riled up and start a riot.

So, the police sent out this report to clarify…

There is erroneous information being circulated on social media regarding in the officer involved shooting in the Lloyd district. We can confirm that the subject involved is an adult white male. No one else was injured.

What confused me about the report was that the reason for the shooting was not released, just the color of the man, as if that would be enough to end any thought of rioting.

I mean, seriously, is there where society is headed now thanks to the likes of ANTIFA, BLM, and this new uber-progressive wing of the Democrat Party?

Half the country was outraged when George Floyd was killed. Half the country was outraged when criminals resisted arrest and were shot simply because they were black men.

Yet, I have not heard a peep of outrage from anyone on the left over this shooting other than the deception by ANTIFA to try to start a riot.
