A number of European Union leaders have been visiting Ukraine to show their support.
When it comes to the German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Ukrainian President Zelensky has a message:
Stay out.
That’s right. Ukraine welcomed leaders from at least four different NATO countries, but asked Frank-Walter to stay away.
The snub is said to be a result of the German’s perceived soft stance on Russia.
Steinmeier has spent a lot of time trying to strengthen relations between Germany and Russia, leaving many Ukrainians to wonder whose side Steinmeier was even on.
Many German officials are upset the snub didn’t happen behind closed doors, but was instead leaked to the public through German publication Bild.
They wished for the issue to be dealt with “behind closed doors.”
Germany was upset they were “refused the treatment other European nations are currently receiving, much to the chagrin of those in power.”
