Manhattan Prosecutors Flee After Bragg Takes Over

Manhattan has a new, uber-progressive, Soros-backed DA.

His new agenda is not sitting well with prosecutors that actually want to put criminals behind bars.

After Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg took office, roughly a dozen prosecutors have quit.

We Prefer to Prosecute Crimes

This is not a situation where prosecutors are leaving for new jobs.

According to reports, many of these prosecutors did not even have new jobs lined up when they left.

They are just refusing to work in a situation where crimes are not prosecuted.

Bragg has put some utterly ridiculous policies in place.

Some have lowered felonies to misdemeanors, while other crimes simply will not be prosecuted.

One official stated, “I know one [ADA] who was with the office over 20 years who left without a job.

“They didn’t want to work in this kind of office.

“They wanted to continue prosecuting the law.”

One of the more impactful losses was senior trial counsel Joan Illuzzi-Orbon.

Illuzzi-Orbon prosecuted Harvey Weinstein as well as having won a conviction in the 1979 Etan Patz murder case.

One former prosecutor stated, “He wants to get rid of all the senior people who prosecuted high-profile cases and replace them with young inexperienced people who think like him and don’t want to uphold the law.”

Even scarier than the mass exodus is who Bragg will bring in to replace them.

A former member of the DA’s office, Mark Bederow, stated, “I would anticipate that many people within the office who have been there for years, who perhaps do not share the same philosophy as the incoming DA, will most likely leave.

“I would expect that the incoming classes of DAs in the next couple of years will entirely share the policies of Mr. Bragg.”

Think about that… an office full of non-prosecuting attorneys in one of the biggest cities in the country with sky-rocketing crime, and none of them want people to go to jail for their crimes.

Mayor Eric Adams came into office on a law and order campaign, but that will be hard to deliver if his DA is using a subway turnstile for criminals instead of a courtroom.

Do you think our big cities are in trouble with these uber-progressive DAs that no longer want to prosecute crimes?
