Pay-to-play… that was the first thing that came to mind when we found out Hunter Biden was selling blow art for $500,000.
Virtually everything this administration has told us about Hunter Biden and corruption has been a lie.
This time, even Jen Psaki, master spin artist, could not talk her way out of it.
About Hunter Biden…
So, there are two stories regarding Hunter this week that caused Psaki some problems.
First, Hunter still has business ties to China, so Psaki deflected and told the media to talk to his representatives.
It has been about a year since Hunter was to divest, but apparently, he is the only person in the world who is incapable of doing so after a year.
The Biden administration is about to get into serious trade talks with China, so this is really no big deal, though, right?
Next up is Hunter’s art, and this is where the real fun begins.
Attending Hunter’s art show was none other than Eric Garcetti, Joe Biden’s nominee to be ambassador to India.
Also in attendance was Michael Tubbs, another Democrat currently working for Governor Gavin Newsom.
What are the odds one of Hunter’s paintings ends up on one of both of their walls?
CBS News Radio’s Steven Portnoy asked, “Should we expect to see more people who seek jobs in this administration attending events like this in the future?”
Psaki tried to defend the art sale, again, stating, “Well, to be clear, we’ve spoken to the arrangement that is run by the gallerist and Hunter Biden’s representatives that the White House provided suggestions for. I’d refer to the gallerist for questions about the event as well as the representatives of Mr. Garrcetti in terms of his attendance.”
After a quick back and forth, where Psaki was again sarcastic in her answer, Portnoy responded, “That the president’s son would be selling artwork and then meeting potentially with people who would seek to buy it.
“If you have attendees who might be seeking either jobs in this administration or favors from this administration, isn’t this an awkward situation for the president?”
Psaki responded, “Again, the gallerist has spoken to, we have spoken to the specifics that the gallery has agreed to and what recommendations were made. I’ve done that several times. I don’t have additional details for you from here. I’d point you to them.”
After Portnoy put her through the wringer, ABC News’ Cecilia Vega picked it right back up, asking, “Does this White House not have any concerns about the photos that have emerged showing Hunter Biden at that gallery alongside prospective buyers?”
Psaki responded, “I’d point you to the gallerist on the specifics of the restrictions that were put in place.”
Vega did not let up, coming right back, “Right, but what about the position of this White House and for the president who ran on being transparent?”
At this point, Psaki was just about ghost white and very defensive, responding, “We were very transparent about what recommendations were made to the gallerist.
“And I would again point you to them or the many times I have spoken about that from here.”
You can see the full briefing in the video below, but this particular line of questioning starts around the 16:28 mark…
What do you think… is something shady going on here? Does the administration need to be more transparent about what is going on? Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
