Psaki: DeSantis Pushing Treatments ‘That Do Not Work’

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is hitting DeSantis with a rather unfair statement.

This week, word got out that the FDA was pulling its emergency approval for two monoclonal antibody treatments.

The reason for pulling the authorization is that they are not effective against Omicron.

DeSantis crushed the administration after the announcement was made; now the White House is pushing borderline misinformation to take him down.

Not All Omicron

According to the Florida Department of Health, they are still seeing cases of previous variants.

While Omicron is, by far, the most dominant variant, people are still catching previous variants that are still floating around.

DeSantis wanted the other treatments for those patients but now he cannot get them.

DeSantis, after the treatments were pulled, stated, “Without a shred of clinical data to support this action, [President Joe] Biden has forced trained medical professionals to choose between treating their patients or breaking the law.

“This indefensible edict takes treatment out of the hands of medical professionals and will cost some Americans their lives. There are real-world implications to Biden’s medical authoritarianism — Americans’ access to treatments is now subject to the whims of a failing president.”

Psaki responded, “Well, let’s just take a step back here just to realize how crazy this is.

“These treatments — the ones that they are fighting over, that the governor’s fighting over — do not work against Omicron, and they have side effects. That is what the scientists are saying.”

So, instead of allowing medical professionals to treat patients that do not have Omicron with the previous treatments, they have just pulled them from the shelves.

Here is the really screwy thing in all of this… Omicron is far less lethal, so they have actually pulled treatments for the deadlier string of the virus.

That sums up Joe Biden’s presidency in a nutshell.
