Parliamentarian Rules Dems Cannot Include Amnesty in Reconciliation Bill

House Speaker Pelosi and Democrat leadership took a major shot across the bow today.

The Senate parliamentarian crushed their dreams of having amnesty included in the massive $3.5 trillion spending bill Dems are hoping to ram through Congress.

Per the parliamentarian, the amnesty for more than eight million illegals may not be included in the spending bill.

Democrats have filled the $3.5 trillion package with more than the usual fluff, which is one of the reasons they are being forced to use reconciliation to try to get it through Congress.

They will, however, have to figure out a new approach to make illegal immigration legal in this country.

Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough stated that “The policy changes of this proposal far outweigh the budgetary impact scored to it and it is not appropriate for inclusion in reconciliation.”

She later added, “Changing the law to clear the way to [legal permanent resident] status is tremendous and enduring policy change that dwarfs its budgetary impact.”

Make no mistake about it, this is a crushing blow to Democrats that will be a significant setback for them as a party.

Democrats have been hoping to add millions of voters to our rolls by offering amnesty, but the numbers are far greater than the eight million or so that were included in this bill.

When you consider the trickle-down effect this would have in terms of chain migrations, the final numbers could be in the tens of millions over the next decade or so.

This is and has never been about “doing right” by illegal immigrants. It is about power.

Anyone who doubts that need only look at the priorities of Democrats over this past week.

A week ago, Joe Biden told Americans that prices aren’t actually high.

But the numbers don’t lie.

Inflation is up 14.4% since Biden took office.

And all the president can offer are more lies.

Inflation ⬆️ more than expected.

Overall CPI: +6.4% y/y
Fuel Oil: +27.7%
Electricity: +11.9%
Groceries: +11.3%
Chicken +10.5%
Milk: +11%
Eggs: +70.1%
Bread: +14.9%
Potatoes: +12.4%
Baby Food: +10%
Airline Fares: +25.6%
Real Average Hourly Earnings: -1.8%

Year-over-year real wages have been negative for 22 months - ever since Biden forced through his $1.9 trillion "stimulus."

That's a wages recession for American workers.
