The FBI under Director Wray has yet another black eye on its record.
The results of an Inspector General’s report were released on Tuesday.
The report found that several FBI officials engaged in sex with prostitutes while overseas, a direct violation of the Department of Justice and FBI policies.
What Is Going On?
I am not sure what is going on over at the FBI, but it needs to change, and it needs to change soon.
I have dozens of friends that work or have worked for the agency, and all of them are walking around scratching their heads trying to figure out how Director Wray still has a job.
The latest scandal involved a total of five agents that either engaged in sex or tried to have sex with prostitutes while overseas.
The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) report stated, “The OIG investigation further found that five officials failed to report contact or relationships with foreign nationals, including foreign nationals from whom they procured commercial sex, in violation of FBI policies.”
Additionally, one of the agents failed to report that they had provided a “package containing approximately 100 white pills” to a foreign police officer.
A sixth agent was also disciplined for “failing to report suspected violations.”
Of the five agents directly involved in soliciting sex, “two resigned, two retired, and one was removed.”
The FBI seems to be a completely rudderless ship right now, with leadership being either incompetent or just looking the other way with violation after violation.
This dates all the way back to the Trump investigation, where we saw blatant abuse of FISA warrants.
It is just one problem after another with the FBI, turning what was once the most respected law enforcement agency in the world into a complete joke.
Wray has to go if for no other reason than optics that something is being done to address these issues.
