Is there no limit to the atrocities Putin is capable of during this war with Ukraine?
We have seen numerous reports of civilian targets being hit by bombs throughout the war.
Now, Ukraine is accusing Putin of targeting a maternity and children’s hospital in Mariupol.
The Horror
Once again, Russia has violated a temporary cease-fire.
When this hospital was bombed, there was supposed to have been a 12-hour cease-fire in place.
The halt was so that civilians that wanted to flee Ukraine could do so without the fear of being killed.
Mariupol city council stated, “The destruction is enormous.
“The building of the medical facility where the children were treated recently is completely destroyed.”
President Zelensky responded, telling NATO allies, “Close the sky right now! Stop the killings!
“You have power but you seem to be losing humanity.
“Direct strike of Russian troops at the maternity hospital.
“People, children are under the wreckage. Atrocity!
“How much longer will the world be an accomplice ignoring terror?”
The problem, of course, is that if any NATO country declares Ukraine a no-fly zone, that would have to be enforced.
The only way to enforce that would be to have allied jets patrolling the skies, which would result in a direct conflict with Russia.
If that happens, we are then in World War III, something everyone is trying to avoid.
