Well, Justice Breyer has finally caved to the left.

With the Democrat hold on Congress in danger, Breyer is taking no chances.

NBC News is reporting that the 83-year-old justice will step down, giving Joe Biden his much-wanted Supreme Court nominee.

With the Democrat hold in both the Senate and House up for grabs, it now appears as though Breyer does not want to take the chance that a Biden nominee could get blocked.

If Republicans were to take back the Senate, Breyer would have been locked into holding his seat for at least two more years, possibly longer if the Republicans were able to hold and win back the White House.

Retiring now assures Biden of being able to ram through just about anyone that he wants regardless of Republican pushback.

It also ensures that a liberal justice gets replaced with another liberal.

The question is just how far left the next justice will be.

Exactly when Breyer steps down is not known, as that was not stated in the initial report.

The White House, as usual, was less than transparent on the issue.

I also see this is another PR move by Biden to try to swing liberal voters back in his corner to get his approval rating up.

I fully expect Biden to nominate a minority woman to the bench, probably about as far left as it gets.

This may win Biden some liberal votes, but the move will backfire in terms of independents and moderates, especially if he goes uber-progressive on this issue.

Once a nominee is named, we will be doing some digging into the record on immigration specifically to see what kind of activist past is buried deep in his or her closet.
