A report has surfaced that has the world outraged.
The BBC broke the story that a pregnant police officer has been shot and killed in front of her family.
According to the report, the Taliban was allegedly behind the killing.
Disturbing Report
Local media has identified the woman as Banu Negar.
Reports stated that local Taliban militants shot and killed the woman in front of her family.
This report surfaced after reports of the Taliban shutting down a woman’s rights protest as well as repression of women throughout the country since the Taliban assumed control.
The Taliban, of course, has denied the report.
Spokesman Zabiullah Mujaheed stated, “We are aware of the incident and I am confirming that the Taliban have not killed her, our investigation is ongoing.”
The Taliban have also denied hunting down Americans and slaughtering Afghan nationals that helped Americans during the conflict, so you can take the denial for what it’s worth.
Details of the attack are still a bit fuzzy, as locals are terrified to come forward for fear of retaliation from the Taliban.
However, the BBC reported that several witnesses confirmed Negar was beaten and shot directly in front of her husband and children on Saturday.
The outlet also claimed to have received photos that showed “blood spattered on a wall in the corner of a room and a body, the face heavily disfigured.”
Negar was eight months pregnant.
