A reporter dared to challenge Joe Biden on his pandemic response this week.
Let’s just say it did not go over very well.
Biden was asked about the lack of testing availability and how that reflects on his administration.
Joe snapped back his answer, and he also gave us enough ammunition to take him down in the process.
Joe is His Own Worst Enemy
Biden addressed the nation on Tuesday.
As part of that address, he announced a new nationwide initiative for free rapid COVID testing.
The problem, however, is that the tests are not in stock, the website is not done, and we won’t be able to get the tests until after the new year.
CNN reporter Phil Mattingly questioned Biden on this front, asking, “On testing, you said we have to do better, but public health officials have been saying for months you need to surge rapid tests for just this moment. Is it a failure that you don’t have an adequate amount of tests for everyone to be able to get one, if they need one, right now?”
Biden responded, “No it’s not because COVID is spreading so rapidly if you notice. It just happened almost overnight just in the last month. And so, it’s not a failure, but an alarm bell went off.
“I don’t think anybody anticipated that this was going to be as rapidly spreading as it did. And so the question is, we had a lot of people who had access to tests who can order them, could have their insurance pay for it, etc.”
Biden is wrong, here, dead wrong, in fact.
Just about everyone was expecting a surge this winter, including this writer.
I have warned about this repeatedly, often referring to it is the new flu on steroids, and I hardly have the access Biden has to scientists.
I can very comfortably say you would have to be an idiot not to assume another wave of COVID would hit this winter.
To that point…
Just some of my predictions that NY was going to have a winter spike. I don't get how I could know (based on monitoring case and death numbers) this was coming but public health professionals/the Biden administration did not. pic.twitter.com/hz6SHtWcBV

Biden went on to say that “all of a sudden, it was like everybody rushed to the counter. There was a big, big rush, and I knew that was coming.
“So what I tried to do was meet with the companies and use the Defense Production Act to get a half a billion more tests and figure out how to get them to their homes, get them on the shelves in the stores. That’s what it’s all about.”
Well, that should have been done during the spring and summer in anticipation of another surge.
These tests should have already been stockpiled and available, not just now being ordered and going into production.
Biden’s comments did not sit well with a lot of people…
I cannot believe the answer to "Is it a failure that you didn't have enough tests?" is "No, because who could have predicted this?"
EVERYONE.

Biden: It’s not a failure that we don’t have more tests—because this covid surge came on so fast…
Does that make any sense? Would anyone accept that explanation from Trump?

So, as it turns out, Kamala Harris saying that this administration never saw this coming was entirely accurate, and Joe Biden just admitted as much.
That, of course, means that Dr. Fauci has, once again, been going on national TV lying to everyone (he tried to clean up Harris’ comments all day on Sunday).
I realize there is only so much that can be done, and I am on the record many times saying that for the most part, this virus is going to run its course.
However, little things like this could have made a big difference in controlling the outbreaks.
Considering how much flack Trump got regarding testing and his COVID response, can we expect to see the same outrage and callings of failure from the media now that Biden has dropped the ball?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate Joe Biden’s pandemic plan?
