Where do Democrats draw the line when it comes to abusive labor practices?
Listening to recent statements from climate czar John Kerry, that line clearly does not exist when it comes to climate change.
After Kerry told reporters human rights violations are not in his lane, Republicans unloaded on the controversial member of Biden’s administration.
Blind Eye
One would think modern-day slavery would be enough for the United States to back off getting in bed with another country on renewable energy, but that is not the case.
China, the world’s largest polluter, has not been very active in recent climate talks, and Kerry is willing to do just about anything to get them to the table.
To that point, after Kerry reached a deal with the Chinese this week, Republicans took aim at the hypocritical climate envoy who flies the globe on his private jet.
Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley stated, “It doesn’t get worse than John Kerry.
“He’s willing to accept Chinese slave labor to promote his radical climate agenda.
“What happened to defending human rights?”
Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) was also among those throwing shade at Kerry, stating, “The Biden administration and some Democrats are so desperate for a climate deal with the Chinese Communist Party that they are willing to ignore the regime’s use of slave labor.”
Kerry’s office responded, “As Secretary Kerry has said from the start, the United States and China have mutual interests in solving the climate crisis while there’s still time, even when we fundamentally disagree on other critical issues.”
So, just to be clear, since Kerry worked on human rights before, he is now free and clear to work with a country that still uses slave labor… got it.
