Bad news for Joe Biden… again.
After massive pushback from progressives regarding the framing of the initial Supreme Court panel report, two conservatives have resigned.
Caleb Nelson, a law professor at the University of Virginia, and Jack Goldsmith, a law professor at Harvard, are no longer serving.
See Ya!
Spokesperson Andrew Bates stated, “These two commissioners have chosen to bring their involvement to a close.
“We respect their decision and very much appreciate the significant contributions that they made during the last 5 months in terms of preparing for these deliberations.”
Their resignations come amid what appears to be some infighting after the initial reports were released.
That initial report offered a negative view on court-packing, which did not go over too well.
NAACP Legal Defense Fund President Sherrilyn Ifill stated, “This entire discussion is framed in the context of partisan politics.
“And I actually think that is a disservice to the exploration of this issue.”
With such significant pushback on this, we can expect the final report to change to suit the narrative that progressives want.
It is a sad but true reality, especially now that two conservatives on the panel that were clearly against court-packing are now gone.
It will be interesting to see just how much of a change happens.
