Retiring Democrat Drops a Dime on Party Leadership

Even though Democrats are reeling in polling right now, the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) hauled in more than $19 million last month.

That news was tempered when one of its own dared to spill the beans on what is really happening in the party.

Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL), who is retiring from Congress, blasted the party for chasing out moderates.

What’s Going On

Murphy is in the midst of her third term in office, and it will be her last.

She claims the party has made a massive shift to the hard left, squeezing out candidates like herself that refuse to give in to the progressives.

She went on to claim that now that Democrats have the majority, tolerance for moderates is all but gone.

Murphy stated, “With us being in the majority, that tolerance eroded a bit.

“It’s unfortunate, because I think in order for us as Democrats to hold the majority, you have to be able to win in seats like mine and in redder seats.

“That means you have to cut your members a little bit of leeway to vote their district.

“This march towards party unity is going to be detrimental to our ability to lead.”

Murphy also stated that the DCCC chair was threatening to withhold funding from moderates that would not back Biden’s Build Back Better plan.

I guess representing your constituents no longer matters to Democrats.

For that matter, when did it?
