A local neighborhood in Evansville, IN, looks like a war zone today.
A home exploded, the cause of which is still under investigation.
So far, three people have been found dead.
Additionally, 39 homes were damaged.
Still Taking Inventory
The death toll, sadly, is likely to grow as the days pass and officials root through the rubble.
Videos of the explosion show just how devastating this was…
I am still seeing reports on social media of homes that were blocks away that had trees fall on them or that thought they were in an earthquake when the blast took place.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke stated, “I’d seen photos that have been placed online, but once I walked up to the residence itself and saw the devastation with my own eyes, it was, I mean, it was a gut punch.
“Across the street from the explosion you’ll see house after house that has windows blown out, that has you know there’s insulation blown out from homes.”
The investigation was halted late Wednesday night and resumed early Thursday.
However, authorities warned not to expect an official announcement anytime soon, as this will be a “tedious” process.
Again, to be clear because there is a lot of speculation about this explosion, authorities have yet to announce an official case.
Anything else is pure speculation.
