This administration had a knee-jerk reaction to the Omicron variant.
Travel bans were put in place, mask mandates were encouraged, and they used it to again push vaccines and booster shots.
Regardless of what this administration is doing, however, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has assured Floridians lockdowns and mandates will not be part of their life.

Dr. Fauci has once again been front and center with the new Omicron variant hitting our shores.
This is already being sensationalized, yet the data we have so far tells a very different story.
In South Africa, where the variant first appeared, doctors that have treated patients are telling everyone to pump the brakes.
The latest variant is not hospitalizing or killing people.
It may be more contagious, but the virus appears to be lessening in strength as it continues to mutate.
This is probably the best possible news for the entire world, as this is truly the only way this virus can be defeated.
While Biden and Fauci make up policies that have nothing at all to do with science, DeSantis says that will not be happing.
Governor DeSantis stated, “In Florida, we won’t let them lock ya down, we won’t let them restrict you, we’re not gonna let them impose mandates, we’re not gonna let them close the schools.”

DeSantis stated this as the first case of Omicron has been found in Florida.
A state health official stated, “Since the pandemic’s beginning, the Department has conducted genomic sequencing and maintains surveillance of emerging variants in Florida.
“As a result of these continuous and diligent efforts, the Department quickly identified a presumptive case of the Omicron variant in Florida.”
DeSantis then took a shot at governors in other states who are already imposing restrictions reminiscent of the early days of the pandemic.
He stated, “It’s a free country, so when people are in bad environments – when you have states that don’t know how to fight crime, when you have states that are locking people down, mandating them, doing a lot of stupid things – people look for greener pastures.”
