Russia has announced they’re going to shut it down at the end of August.
At least for a few days.
They’re ceasing the flow of natural gas to Germany for several days at the end of August.
The move will put even more pressure on Europe’s already strained energy grid.
Russian energy concern Gazprom made the announcement.
The closure will run from August 31 to September 2.
Russia obviously has its hands full dealing with a massive war right now, so the world takes interest whenever they make any moves that impact other countries.
Germany’s energy industry is already in a tough crunch because of disruptions in its energy supply line, and this shutdown isn’t going to help.
Repairs need to be made to the Nord Stream pipeline.
The Nord Stream pipeline is a network that runs underneath the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany.
