Russian Cosmonauts Show Up Supporting Ukraine

Three Russian cosmonauts arrived at the International Space Station on March 19.

They weren’t wearing normal Russian cosmonaut uniforms, though.

They were wearing the colors of the Ukrainian flag.

The cosmonauts were the first people to arrive at the station since Russia officially began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

Cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev said each new crew that makes the journey gets to choose its own style of flight suit.

For this one, they didn’t make the conventional choice.

Instead of plain colors, they arrived wearing yellow suits with blue trim – the colors of Ukraine.

The AP reported that already aboard the space station were two Russians, four Americans, and a German.
