Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) once again proved he has as little class in victory as he does in defeat.
After Republicans handed Schumer a massive win by caving on the debt ceiling, Schumer absolutely blasted Republicans in a fiery speech on the Senate floor.
The speech was not received well, to say the last.
A Time and a Place
Politicians make speeches and shred the opposing party… that is what they do.
That is fine in most cases but should absolutely not be the place after they saved your party from defaulting.
In part, Schumer stated, “Yesterday, Senate Republicans finally realized that their obstruction was not going to work.
“I thank, very much thank, my Democratic colleagues for our showing our unity in solving this Republican-manufactured crisis.”
As Schumer was giving his speech, Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) could be seen with his head in hands, shaking in disapproval of the words that Schumer chose after the win.
Manchin slammed Schumer for going to war with Republicans after repeatedly saying that he wants to work with Republicans and asking for unity.
Manchin stated, “I didn’t think it was appropriate at this time.”
He also reportedly called the speech “stupid.”
One Republican who voted “yes” on the proposal was also less than thrilled…
THUNE, who voted yes on cloture said of Schumer's speech: "I thought was totally out of line"
"I just thought it was incredibly partisan speech after we had just helped them solve a problem," he said.
"I let them have it," he said.

Senator Romney (R-UT) added, “There’s a time to be graceful and there’s a time to be combative. That was a time for grace and common ground.”
Another Republican who voted “yes,” Senator Mike Rounds (R-S.D.), called Schumer’s rant a “classless speech.”
When will they learn?
