This weekend, the Biden administration was touting how much Joe Biden loves and respects our veterans.
The weekend was not even over when reports broke that two New York VA hospitals were on the chopping block by the Biden administration.
Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) usually wags the tail for Biden, but that will not be the case this time.
Shut Them Down
With all of the problems our veterans have and New York being among the largest cities in the country, it is probably the last place that VA hospitals should be trimmed.
If anything, we need to dump more money into these programs to ensure our veterans are getting the care they need.
When the plan to cut two New York City VAs was announced, Schumer actually did the right thing and pushed back against Biden.
He stated, “We are going to fight this proposal tooth and nail.
“We are going to put a dagger through its heart, and it’s not going to see the light of day.
“These are the people who risked their lives for us, and the only thing we said in return is, ‘You’ll get good healthcare.’ These facilities give good healthcare.
“We’re not going to take them away.
“Who is going to take care of them? We are not going to turn our back on these veterans, plain and simple.”
There are more than 200,000 veterans that live throughout New York City.
So, I cannot believe what I am about to say, but I agree with Schumer completely on this issue.
