There has been a significant resistance by active military in this country to take the jab.
That is going to change very soon.
According to a Fox News report, Defense Secretary Austin is about to mandate that all active military personnel will be forced to be vaccinated.
Is This Even Legal?
Per a May 17, 2021, Military Times report, slightly more than 27 percent of active military had at least one dose of the vaccine.
With 1.3 million active service members wearing the uniform, a safe estimate would be that roughly 800,000 remain unvaccinated.
The percentage breakdown by race of active members having been vaccinated is 18.7 percent black, 25.5 percent Hispanic, and 29 percent white.
As we have seen among the regular population, the biggest resistance among the unvaccinated are minority groups… and now this administration is going to force them to take the needle.
According to the Department of Justice, the legalities of requiring service members to forcibly take the vaccine (one not yet permanently approved by the FDA, mind you) will require a presidential waiver.
The ramifications for refusal are not yet known, but it is hard to imagine the government would be willing to discharge tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, or military personnel for refusing to take the vaccine.
I would suspect there will be significant reporting between now and the formal announcement on that front, specifically the reaction from soldiers as well as the legal ramifications of forcing someone to take such a vaccine.
