One of the staple characters in “Seinfeld” has left us.
Estelle Harris died on Saturday of natural causes.
Harris was 93 years old.
Funny Lady
Harris was best known for her role on “Seinfeld.”
She played Estelle Costanza, George Costanza’s mother.
Her nasal voice was immediately recognizable, as was her overly dramatic style of comedy.
She may not have been a main character on “Seinfeld,” but she played a major part in the series’ success over the years.
For the few people that did not watch “Seinfeld,” Harris also did the voice of Mrs. Potato Head in the “Toy Story” franchise.
Harris’ death was announced by her son this weekend.
He told “Deadline,” “It is with the greatest remorse and sadness to announce that Estelle Harris has passed on this evening at 6:25pm.
“Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humor, empathy and love were practically unrivaled, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her.”
Harris is survived by three children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Rest in peace, Estelle, and thanks for all those laughs over the years.
