Yet another Biden nominee, this one already controversial, just had a nasty skeleton fall out of his closet.
Chris Magnus, Joe Biden’s nominee to run the Customs and Border Protection (CPB) agency, was once facing sexual harassment charges.
According to the report, Magnus settled the claim, but he now claims the allegations were bogus and an attack against him personally.
All Lies
Magnus settled the 2015 complaint for an undisclosed amount in 2017.
Why this never came up during his hearings is just a bit baffling, but it is out there now.
Magnus, the current chief of Police in Tucson, AZ, was charged by a former member of his protection detail.
According to the claim, the CBP nominee “while dressed in questionable civilian attire, approached plaintiff while walking his dog, and began touching plaintiff inappropriately on his arm, and began rubbing plaintiff on his upper leg, in an obvious sexual manner.”
The officer allegedly touched said that he told Magnus he was not interested, then reported the incident to his superior.
After the complaint was made, the officer stated that Magnus started to treat him differently, such as denying OT requests.
He also claimed that Magnus started an internal affairs investigation against the officer for a domestic altercation between the officer and his former spouse.
No charges were ever filed against the officer in the case.
The complaint goes on to state, “Then, when Plaintiff denied the charges during his interview with the internal affairs investigator, Defendant Magnus accused Plaintiff of ‘lying’ to the investigator, and then terminated Plaintiff’s employment for alleged dishonesty.”
Magnus said the entire claim against him was “bogus.”
He believes he was targeted for the complaint because he is a gay man.
He stated, “There were still people at that time who felt I’m an easier target because I’m a gay man.
“That’s not the first time in my career I’ve experienced that.”
If you saw the hearings for this man, there is simply no way he can be confirmed as the boss of the CBP.
When you add this controversy to the fact he is incapable of calling the record surge at the border a crisis, he is simply unfit for this position.
I will wrap this up by saying, if you are not guilty, you don’t settle… ’nuff said.
