It would appear that Joe Biden has narrowed down his Supreme Court nominee list to three potential names.
Fox News reported that Ketanji Brown Jackson, Leondra Kruger, and Michelle Childs are the three remaining candidates.
I still believe this is all a dog and pony show, with Childs eventually being named as Biden’s nominee.
The Short List
Biden is slated to announce his pick before the end of the month.
Former Democrat Senator Doug Jones has been tasked with leading Biden’s vetting team.
However, Childs was the pick that Rep. Clyburn (D-S.C.) had put on the table, and he already has several Republicans that would support her.
Considering the fact that Clyburn saved Biden’s candidacy during the primary race, it has been assumed all along that Childs would get the nod.
Of the names on the list, she would seem to be the most moderate, although she has a past decision that rubs me the wrong way.
During the election, Childs ruled that witnessing absentee ballots was not necessary, adding to the problems faced during the election.
Her ruling was eventually overturned.
On the flip side of that, if Childs is nominated, expected some pushback from progressives based on sentences Childs had handed out to drug offenders.
Several cases have already been brought up and progressives have made it pretty clear they will not be happy if Childs is the eventual nominee.
Who would you consider the lesser of all evils in those three nominees?
