My how the script has flipped on Democrats in recent weeks regarding new congressional maps.
The latest blow to Democrats comes courtesy of the Kansas Supreme Court.
The court upheld the latest congressional GOP-drawn map, which should deal the Dems an even more significant blow in the 2022 cycle.
Taking Haymakers
Last week, Democrats were spanked by a new congressional map in New York, which, if it stands up, could put some of the heavyweights of the party up against each other.
Now, the same thing has happened in Kansas.
The court stated, “A majority of the court holds that, on the record before us, plaintiffs have not prevailed on their claims that [the redistricted map] violates the Kansas Constitution.
“Therefore, the judgment of the district court is reversed and the permanent injunction ordered by the district court is lifted.
“A full opinion describing the facts, rationale, and holdings of the court is forthcoming, along with all dissenting or concurring opinions of members of the court.”
This is the same map that was vetoed by Democrat Governor Laura Kelly earlier in the year.
A Democrat judge in a lower court tossed out the map and demanded new lines be drawn, but the State Supreme Court ruling will toss that ruling right into the shredder.
We are now well on our way to taking over the House by about three dozen or more seats, IF my crystal ball is working right.
