Survey Respondents Play Trump Card

A Rasmussen Reports survey asked “Would Russia have invaded Ukraine if Donald Trump were still president?”

Thirty-eight percent of Americans said “yes.”

Forty-six percent of Americans said “no.”

Without having the majority, but still being the leading vote-getter, “no” claimed the plurality amongst likely voters.

The opinions fell generally along the party lines that you would expect, which includes independent’s recent dislike for Joe Biden.

In fact, among independents, 67% of them said that Biden didn’t do everything in his power to prevent the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The voters also said that they generally trust Republicans more than Democrats:

By a 13-point margin, voters trust Republicans (46%) more than Democrats (33%) to handle issues related to U.S. national security. Another 19% don’t trust either party. Unsurprisingly, most Republicans (82%) trust the GOP more and most Democratic voters (72%) trust Democrats more with national security. Among unaffiliated voters, 45% trust Republicans more on national security issues, compared to just 17% for Democrats. Thirty-five percent (35%) of unaffiliated voters don’t trust either party on national security.
