Our new buddies in the Middle East have once again proven why we should have just erased Afghanistan off the map.
Reports are breaking now that the Taliban has captured nine westerners.
Among those captured is a former BBC journalist.
Taking Prisoners
The report broke very early this morning by the UN Refugee Agency.
A tweet was sent out stating, “Two journalists with UNHCR and Afghan nationals working with them have been detained in Kabul. We are doing our utmost to resolve the situation, in coordination with others.
“We will make no further comment given the nature of the situation.”

The former BBC reporter is Andrew North.
Natalia Antelava, his wife, tweeted, “Andrew was in Kabul working for the UNHCR @Refugees trying to help the people of Afghanistan.
“We are extremely concerned for his safety & call on anyone with influence to help secure his release.”

Afghanistan’s former vice president Amrullah Saleh added, “Due to no media, no reporting by citizens & a suffocating atmosphere corruption, crime & atrocities aren’t well exposed.
“As an example 9 citizens of western countries have been kidnapped amongst them Andrew North of BBC & Peter Juvenal owner of Gandomak Restaurant.”
Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid responded, “We have received information about this and are trying to confirm whether they have been detained or not.”
I am sure we can trust every word that comes from the Taliban on this front…
Something needs to be done about this and it needs to be done now.
Our government and our allies need to stop playing games with these terrorists and hold them accountable for these atrocities.
