Once again, the vow by the Taliban to allow those that have worked with the United States to pass without harm has been broken.
The Sunday Times issued a startling report regarding the deaths of four Afghan counterterrorism agents that had been trained by UK and US forces.
According to the report, the men were tracked down, tortured, and killed by the Taliban.
Shocking Deaths
To be clear, at no time did I believe the Taliban would honor its word.
Even when President Trump had announced his initial deal, I questioned whether the Taliban would remain true to its word.
Trump seemed to have a handle on them, however, as the Taliban more or less ceased operations when Trump was living in the White House.
Under Biden, the group seems to have no fear, and is now openly violating its agreements and taunting the United States.
To that point, after the Afghan withdrawal, we reported that the Taliban had created elite death squads to track down “enemies.”
These four men apparently fell into that category.
The men were all agents for the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
The Sunday Times reported that the brother of one of the dead men told them, “My brother was shot three times in the head and once in the chest and I was shot twice in the left shoulder and arm.
“I don’t know how I survived.”
Another one of the men had his fingernails pulled out by the Taliban before he was shot and killed.
A manager from the NDS said the Taliban captured significant NDS intelligence when it captured Kabul and was able to raid its headquarters.
Anyone opposing the Taliban is now taking their lives into their own hands.
Ravina Shamdasani, the UN’s rights spokesperson, stated, “We have seen a reaction from the Taliban, which has unfortunately been severe.”
These are American allies that helped our troops when we had boots on the ground, yet Joe Biden felt it more important to head to California to campaign for Gavin Newsom than to help them or our citizens still trapped behind enemy lines.
Just let that sit for a bit…
