If Ohio Was a Test Case for GOP Establishment, They Failed

There is a war going on for control of the GOP right now.

It is Trump and his supporters against the establishment.

While the war is far from over, Senator McConnell (R-KY) is crying while Trump is all smiles.

Test Case #1

We are finding out very quickly that Trump has far more influence in the party than the establishment wants him to have.

Trump loaded up on endorsements in primary races this past week, with more than four dozen overall.

Ohio was supposed to be a major testing ground, but all of Trump’s candidates came out on the winning side, some of them in closely contested races where establishment candidates were favored going in.

Former congressman Joe Walsh, who has become one of the biggest anti-Trumpers in the party, stated, “It’s a MAGA-MAGA party.

“Trump’s going to run. But let’s assume he didn’t.

“You’d have seven to eight MAGA candidates, and maybe you’d have one Larry Hogan or something like that. But they’re not going to get any traction.”

Walsh’s obsession with Trump has made him out to be a lunatic on social media, where he regularly gets roasted by even moderate Republicans.

The consensus right now among polling experts is that if you are not affiliated with Trump, there is no room for you in these races.

Now, that will take a blow over the next few weeks, as some races that Trump was really focused on are going to get crushed.

The most significant loss for Trump will be in Georgia, where Governor Kemp is absolutely skunking Perdue.

Even so, Trump is just about perfect at this point, meaning there will be a significant number of MAGA candidates on the tickets come November.

Does the establishment cave and feed his candidates or do they try to hold firm and risk losing simply to destroy Trump?

We will have that answer in about six months.
