A San Antonio, TX, doctor has just admitted to breaking the law.
Dr. Alan Braid openly admitted that he broke the new Texas abortion law on September 6.
Braid did an op-ed admitting that he performed an abortion on September 6 for a woman that was still in her first trimester but beyond the six-week limitation set in the new law.
Testing the Waters
Braid stated that he performed the abortion to test the legality of Texas’ new abortion law.
He stated, “And that is why, on the morning of Sept. 6, I provided an abortion to a woman who, though still in her first trimester, was beyond the state’s new limit.
“I acted because I had a duty of care to this patient, as I do for all patients, and because she has a fundamental right to receive this care.
“I fully understood that there could be legal consequences — but I wanted to make sure that Texas didn’t get away with its bid to prevent this blatantly unconstitutional law from being tested.”
The real reason Braid conducted the abortion, however, was revealed later in his op-ed.
He stated that the new law “shut down about 80% of the abortion services we provide.”
This is about money, not health care.
If Braid loses 80 percent of his abortion business, it is a reasonably safe assumption that his medical practice will be in serious jeopardy, as will most abortion clinics.
So, to save his business, he admitted to illegally killing an unborn child.
He wanted to test the legal waters… well, let’s just hope Ken Braxton grants him his wish.
