After Donald Trump endorsed him, JD Vance says that there is one Trump hater in particular that tried to destroy Vance’s campaign for Congress in Ohio.
Karl Rove.
There are two main reasons you might know Karl Rove.
One, he was the senior advisor to President George W. Bush.
Two, he was the man on Fox News who in 2012 could not admit that Obama had won even hours after it was extremely clear that Mitt Romney had not pulled it off.
Every other pundit and channel in the world was talking about Obama’s victory while Rove sat there leafing through papers trying to find a way for Romney to win when the entire country knew it wasn’t going to happen.
Rove thought he was stronger than the votes coming in for Obama on that night, and before Vance’s victory he thought he was more powerful than Trump’s recommendation.
It’s not secret that Karl Rove hates Donald Trump, so it wasn’t surprising that Rove started attacking Vance the second Trump gave his approval.
“You know, the slimeball Karl Rove, who shipped a lot of American jobs overseas and got rich in the process and also who sent a lot of Americans to die in stupid conflicts,” Vance began. “Karl Rove spent a lot of money, he spent a lot of op-eds criticizing my candidacy, he was even calling my donors after Trump endorsed me and encouraging them to drop my campaign.”
The friction between Rove and Vance comes from Rove’s claims that Jane Timken should have been the GOP’s nominee in Ohio.
