When Brett Kavanaugh was accused of sexual assault by Christine Blasey Ford, most Democrats jumped right on her bandwagon.
That included Pete Buttigieg, who publicly supported Ford on numerous occasions.
As it turns out, the sentiment behind the scenes was not quite what was being said publicly.
Well, Well, Well…
We could almost predict what was going to happen once Kavanaugh was nominated.
You just knew that Democrats were going to sling as much mud as possible, but the Ford allegations caught most by surprise.
To that point, Kavanaugh had always been considered very rooted in his faith, level-headed, and extremely conservative.
While we have all had our wild moments, the accusations that came out against him just seemed over the top.
Behind the scenes, that is apparently what some Democrats thought as well, including Democratic strategist Lis Smith, who served as the senior communications director for Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s 2020 presidential campaign…
While former presidential candidate and current Sec. of Transportation Pete Buttigieg was publicly supportive of Christine Blasey Ford, his campaign advisor Lis Smith was calling her "looney tunes and the height of Me Too overreach" in a text exchange with Cuomo admin officials. https://t.co/yEBqB1hUfR pic.twitter.com/FkP83MWTAp

This is a fairly big deal because of a statement made by Buttigieg’s communications team as all this was going down.
The Guardian reported that attorneys for Kavanaugh had donated to Buttigieg’s campaign, donations that were later returned.
At the time, Buttigieg’s team stated, “With nearly 700,000 donors, a contribution we would otherwise refuse sometimes gets through.
“We believe the women who have courageously spoken out about Brett Kavanaugh’s assault and misconduct, and we thank the Guardian for bringing this contribution to our attention.”
The spokesperson added that Kavanaugh “should have never been put on the Supreme Court, and this campaign will not accept donations from those who played a role in making that happen.”
Considering Buttigieg’s most recent tweet on the subject, I can’t wait to see how he responds to this report, if anyone in the media dares to ask him.
