Judge Roy Moore, a former Republican candidate for Senate in Alabama, has just scored a big win.
A massive win, actually.
$8.2 MILLION.
The sum was recently ordered to be paid to Judge Roy Moore by a federal jury in Alabama.
According to the jury, Moore was the victim of defamation, and needed the payout to compensate for the injuries caused to his reputation.
Moore had filed a lawsuit against a Democrat Super PAC for defaming Moore during his campaign against former Senator Doug Jones in Alabama’s 2017 special election.
Roy Moore’s candidacy was completely derailed by a report “claiming Moore made sexual advances against four teenage girls between 1977 and 1982.”
Obviously, it was going to be an uphill battle for Moore to win anything with such allegations floating around.
Hopefully this $8.2 million will help to soothe his wounds.
