Houston, we have a problem… or do we?

Trump confident, former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, has voluntarily turned over memos to Pelosi’s January 6 Select Committee.

This was initially touted as a huge win for Democrats, but Kerik is pushing a different narrative.

Eviscerate Them

The memos that were turned over outline the strategy of the Trump campaign to fight the election results.

According to the reports that I have read, the memos do nothing in terms of helping Democrats prove that Trump wanted January 6 to turn into a riot.

Quite the opposite, actually.

The memos outline a strategy to pressure governors and secretaries of state to investigate the election.

The memos even state the goal to find “what works to prove the election numbers are right or wrong.”

It seems more like there was a significant focus on tracking all irregularities and fixing them.

Do not get me wrong, Trump was hoping he could find enough to reverse the outcome, but I don’t think they ever truly believed that would be the case.

One of the primary goals was to gain access to the voting machines and conduct a forensic analysis of the machines.

If you recall, there was much made regarding the integrity of the machines, a worry that was never really put to rest, quite honestly.

In fact, the way states fought this only raised suspicions more.

My thought process has always been that if you have nothing to hide, turn them over and let the chips fall where they may.

The biggest problem that I see from the memos was that the campaign was taking note of every fraud claim made, then touting them without actually vetting them in full.

This actually fell on both sides of the aisle, quite honestly.

Democrats just outright dismissed every allegation without ever fully investigating.

Attorney Timothy Parlatore touched on this, stating, “While I appreciate the partisan interests in constantly repeating phrases such as the ‘Big Lie’ or ‘false claims of election fraud,’ the reality is that the claims of election fraud were never fully investigated.

“Without a proper investigation, it is impossible for anyone to state with certainty either that President Biden stole the election through widespread fraud, or that President Trump promoted false claims of election fraud.”

He went on to outline three key conclusions drawn that they plan on destroying.

Parlatore added, “The information that Mr. Kerik can provide, presuming we can resolve the privilege issues, will undermine confidence in the first presumption and will eviscerate the second and third presumptions.”

I, for one, am looking forward to all of this playing.

But I am more hopeful that this will lead to an honest investigation into the election so we can fix whatever irregularities there were and make sure they never happen again.
