Former Trump Chief of Staff Endorses Rep. Nancy Mace

Yet another former Trump staffer is separating himself from Trump-backed candidates.

Former Chief of Staff Mark Mulvaney is dipping his toes into the South Carolina congressional race.

Mulvaney had decided to back Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.), the person Trump is trying to unseat in the primary race.

Rough Waters

Donald Trump has endorsed Katie Arrington in this race.

Mace seemed surprised that Trump got involved in this race, stating, “I remember in 2015 when President Trump announced his run, I was one of his earliest supporters.

“I actually worked for the campaign in 2016. I worked at seven different states across the country to help get him elected.

“I supported him again in 2020 because of policies I believed in.

“He brought American jobs back. He lowered our taxes… he made America safer and took on China directly.”

Trump, while endorsing Arrington, called Mace “disloyal” and “an absolutely terrible candidate.”

Mulvaney is now going head-to-head with Trump in the race, backing Mace.

He stated, “Getting things done in Washington isn’t easy and it doesn’t have to be a nasty business – especially when Members of Congress put their constituents’ needs before partisan politics.

“The fact Congresswoman Mace held over 1,000 meetings in the district in her first year in office shows how she is dedicating everything she has to the Lowcountry.”

He continued, “Her voting record is exceptional when it comes to promoting smaller government and lower taxes.

“And refreshingly, actually she works overtime to get things done in Congress. I support her 100 percent.”

Trump has a lot on the line in 2022, even though he is not running for office in this election.

He has made a lot of endorsements against incumbents, many of them being questioned by some of his top allies.

Trump has an amazing endorsement record to this point, but if his candidates get beat in 2022, the negative headlines will start saying Trump has lost the interest of the GOP voters.

How do you think Trump’s candidates will fare in these elections?
