Has Trump spread himself a bit too thin with endorsements in the coming election?
Some would say yes.
Some would also say he has dipped his toes into elections where he would have been better off sitting on the sidelines.
Donald Trump has backed Dr. Oz of Oprah Winfrey fame for Senator in Pennsylvania.
The good doctor eventually got his own spinoff and became a household name.
Now he is taking a shot at politics, but some previous articles allegedly penned by Oz have come back to haunt him.
The articles were regarding gun control, and Trump’s base and the NRA are not all that happy that Trump is throwing his weight behind Dr. Oz.
Trump is clearly cashingin on name recognition here, but that could be a significant mistake.
Oz is not very well-liked among Trump supporters or conservative media personalities.
After the endorsement was made, there was considerable pushback…
It’s pretty hard for me to fully express how disappointed in Trump I am for endorsing Oz.

Along with the articles on gun control, Oz was an open supporter of Barack Obama in 2008 and has conceded to systemic racism in the health care industry.
These are all things that are being rehashed, and I would suggest that Trump did very little due diligence in this race.
He went after a big name instead of simply sitting this race out, which is what he should have done.
This is a loss-loss situation for Trump.
If Oz wins, conservatives will be on him like a hawk the second he betrays them.
If he loses, the liberal media and Democrats will have more ammo to use against Trump.
