Trump Suggests January 6 Committee Investigate Mike Pence

Trump critics are having a field day right now.

Over the last week, Trump has provided them with just about everything they need to create some negative headlines for the former president.

The worst of it is that Trump seems to be becoming unhinged over things that, in the end, will have little impact on him.

People Are Noticing

Trump has made several moves recently that are starting to lose his support.

During a recent rally, he suggested that he would pardon the rioters from January 6.

He also endorsed a candidate that has not even announced if she is running against an incumbent that has been a loyal MAGA supporter.

That drew significant backlash, with some of Trump’s biggest supporters in Congress and the media hitting him back.

Now he is calling for the Select Committee on January 6 to go after Mike Pence.

Trump, early Tuesday morning, stated, “So pathetic to watch the Unselect Committee of political hacks, liars, and traitors work so feverishly to alter the Electoral College Act so that a Vice President cannot ensure the honest results of the election, when just one year ago they said that ‘the Vice President has absolutely no right to ensure the true outcome or results of an election.’

“In other words, they lied; and the Vice President did have this right or, more pointedly, could have sent the votes back to various legislators for reassessment after so much fraud and irregularities were found.

“If it were sent back to the legislators, or if Nancy Pelosi, who is in charge of Capitol security, had taken my recommendation and substantially increased security, there would have been no ‘January 6’ as we know it!

“Therefore, the Unselect Committee should be investigating why Nancy Pelosi did such a poor job of overseeing security and why Mike Pence did not send back the votes for recertification or approval, in that it has now been shown that he clearly had the right to do so!”

He made a similar statement on Sunday, stating, “If the Vice President (Mike Pence) had ‘absolutely no right’ to change the Presidential Election results in the Senate, despite fraud and many other irregularities, how come the Democrats and RINO Republicans, like Wacky Susan Collins, are desperately trying to pass legislation that will not allow the Vice President to change the results of the election?

“Actually, what they are saying, is that Mike Pence did have the right to change the outcome, and now they want to take that right away.

“Unfortunately, he didn’t exercise that power, he could have overturned the Election!”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki already jumped all over this, telling the media it shows how he is unfit to hold office again.

This whole January 6 Select Committee is likely to end with nothing, so I just don’t understand why Trump does not allow it to play out and die in the news cycle.

The aesthetics on this are not good, to say the least, and he seems to be losing his shine outside of his base.

While he currently leads Joe Biden in mock polls, his lead is slipping, and he is inside of only five points right now, which is astounding considering how bad of a presidency Joe Biden has had.

More importantly, numerous Trump-endorsed candidates are trailing or in very close races, which has not historically been the case.

I am starting to wonder if people, including his base, have finally had enough.

He could have just sat on the sidelines, kept a focused message, and he would have been fine.

These little tantrums of his are only reminding voters why they walked away from him in the first place.

What do you guys think? Is Trump doing more harm than good with these releases or do you want to see him keep this up?
