Tucker Carlson: CDC Director Now Makes the Laws

This week, the CDC announced a new rent moratorium.

This was a controversial policy when Congress added to COVID relief and it is even more controversial now.

The federal government is now telling property owners it cannot demand payment from people living on their property, a rule put in place by the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a woman that has zero authority to craft legislation.

CDC Cannot Legislate

When the initial moratorium was put in place, it was controversial, but it was legal.

It was controversial because tenants were now living rent-free while property owners still had to pay their bills.

Imagine being someone that had worked their whole life to amass rental properties only to find out the government just blocked your main means of income.

Well, that order has now been renewed, only it was done unconstitutionally by the CDC Director, a woman that has no authority to make such legislation.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), however, stated that she does, even though she did not and could not cite anything in our Constitution that would prove her right.

This is an illegal law, period.

Tucker Carlson addressed this issue, stating, in part, “It’s hard to overstate what a momentous change this is.

“It means among other things that private property no longer exists in the United States.

“You thought you owned your home. Not anymore. Rochelle Walensky does. She’ll decide who can live there, under what circumstance and for how long.”

This is an illegal order, make no mistake about that, and it is also unconstitutional per a previous Supreme Court ruling.

Even so, Joe Biden allowed it, breaking his oath of office.

I have already made the argument that this is an impeachable offense, especially when you consider that Biden has openly admitted he knows this will not “pass muster,” but it will buy time.

One of Joe Biden’s senior advisers, Gene Sterling, also admitted there are no legal grounds for this order, they he tried to pull America’s heartstrings to justify the action.

He stated, “To date, the CDC director and her team have been unable to find the legal authority, even for a more targeted eviction moratorium, that would focus just on counties with higher rates of COVID spread. … This is a president who really understands the heartbreak of eviction.

“The reason why he is pressing and pressing, even when legal authority looks slim, is because he wants to make sure we have explored every potential authority.”

Carlson also addressed that very point, stating, “These people are so filthy, but they’re self-righteous. Did you catch that?

“We don’t have the legal authority to do what we’re doing. But we’re doing it anyway. Because who’s going to stop us?”

It is yet another small bite from our rights that is being taken away by Democrats and most in the media are not even batting an eye. In fact, they are welcoming it.

Today it is your property rights; tomorrow, it could be your right to defend yourself… what will it take for liberal America to wake up?
