Two Problems for January 6 Select Committee

The January 6 Select Committee went prime time again this week.

Once again, the media was abuzz with the so-called “facts” presented.

I do not see things the same way, and I see two significant problems for the committee.

Problem One

First and foremost, after the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson, the committee still has not reached out to Secret Service and former Trump staffers that can corroborate or debunk her testimony.

It is not like they have not been talking, just not about her testimony.

For instance, the committee had Pat Cipollone in committee last week, someone who Hutchinson cited, but it failed to ask him about anything she testified to.

The Secret Service agents cited have stated they are willing to testify, but committee members are more interested in attacking their character than giving them a prime-time spot to corroborate Hutchinson’s testimony, which should tell you all you know regarding whether they believe her or not.

A bombshell also hit this week regarding Hutchinson, in that she was calling around to Trump team members trying to get financial help after she was subpoenaed.

It is starting to sound more like a revenge move and a backroom deal to keep her out of trouble than her telling the truth.

Problem Two

The second problem is that while the testimony has been compelling, just about everything the committee is pushing is conjecture.

To that point, watch this Fox News report then we can break it down…

If you watched the entire report, it would appear that the sole piece of “evidence” that the committee has to tie Trump to the riot is a single tweet where he said it was going to get “wild.”

The Twitter employee that was a witness stated that he “thought” it was Trump talking directly to extremist groups.

That is their case…

Realize that none of this would hold up in a real court of law because every piece of “evidence” they have put forth so far is either conjecture or hearsay.

That is exactly why some testimony is being kept hidden and Republicans do not have a real presence on this committee.

If there were any pushback at all, the case would fall apart immediately.

The only truly damning thing that I have seen thus far is the allegation that Trump or someone from his camp was calling witnesses beforehand to urge them to protect Trump, but again, I have yet to see proof, only hearsay.

Until they get someone to formally go on the record, backed up by phone logs, this is an allegation, not a real charge.

Do you think anything will ever come of this committee or do you think it is nothing more than a show?

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.
