US Navy Moving to South China Sea to Prepare for Pelosi Visit

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is making a headline-grabbing trip to Taiwan.

She was even nice enough to invite a Republican along for the ride.

Her little publicity stunt is racking up some serious emissions, however, as an entire aircraft carrier strike force is being repositioned in case China gets squirrely.

What Purpose?

As I have stated before, I am not a fan of these visits.

I understand the purpose… boots on the ground says we support the country, so don’t mess with them.

But, seriously, does anyone on the planet believe a trip by an aging fossil in Congress will change China’s mind about its plans for Taiwan?

That worked out well in Ukraine, didn’t it?

This is a PR stunt, and now it may put some of our troops at risk if China gets pissed off.

China knows where we stand on Taiwan and having Pelosi on the ground is not going to make them change their mind, at least not in a good way.

If anything, it will only provoke China because of Pelosi’s grandstanding.

This is about ego, so Pelosi can claim she was the reason China did not attack Taiwan.

But, what happens if they do? Does she take the blame for it?

When Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) took a group of Senators to Ukraine, did that stop Russia from attacking?

Of course it didn’t, but it got Graham in the papers and something to fundraise off.

The ONLY people that think this is a good idea are other politicians because they all work the same hustle.
