Science is not supposed to consider anything other than hard data, period.
That, however, is not what is behind the latest guidance from the CDC regarding COVID quarantines.
Shockingly, Joe Biden’s CDC boss, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, admitted this time and time again over the last two days.
What People Will Tolerate
Walensky regularly referred to “science” as driving the new guidelines in announcing the latest changes.
What she should have called it was “junk science” because that is what this is.
Scientific guidelines do not factor what they believe people will tolerate into the equation, but that is what the CDC did here.
On the new guidelines, the CDC stated that the new rules are “motivated by science demonstrating that the majority of SARS-CoV-2 transmission occurs early in the course of illness, generally in the 1-2 days prior to onset of symptoms and the 2-3 days after.”
Walensky added, “It really had a lot to do with what we thought people would be able to tolerate.
“We have seen relatively low rates of isolation for all this pandemic.
“Some science is demonstrating less than a third of people are isolating when they need to.
“And so, we want to make sure we have guidance in this moment where we were going to have a lot of disease that could be adhered to, that people were willing to adhere to, and that spoke specifically to when people were maximally infectious.
“So It spoke to both behaviors as well as what people were able to do.”
I also found it rather amusing that Walensky talks about testing, if possible, after five days.
Well, we can’t test because there is no stockpile of tests because Joe Biden never stockpiled the tests during his entire first year in office.
This is why people do not trust the CDC for guidance anymore.
The agency is setting guidelines based on political feedback rather than the actual science.
Not to beat a dead horse, but we all know how the media would have reacted had Trump’s CDC released guidelines on “behavioral science” and what it thought people would tolerate rather than the hard data points of the virus’ lifespan and infectious probabilities.
The media should be utterly destroying the administration on this point, but it appears as though they are accepting this horribly lame reasoning by Walensky.
