Schumer Tests Positive While Dems Scramble to Fill Judicial Vacancies

Democrats are in complete panic mode right now.

With Joe Biden polling at all-time lows for a White House occupant, it is almost certain that Republicans will take over the House and possibly the Senate.

The Senate is the bigger concern for Democrats because once the GOP gets the gavel, Biden loses the ability to ram through these activist judges he has been appointing.

To that point, Senator Schumer (D-N.Y.) testing positive just prior to the recess has put a huge damper on Biden’s judicial agenda.

Not the Time

Schumer testing positive this week is a major issue for Democrats.

While he stated that he will work remotely, it is not the same as being in DC and whipping up support.

Senators Schumer and Durbin (D-IL) have been moving along, filling judicial appointments at a breakneck pace, even more so than Trump did when he was in office.

Senator McConnell (R-KY) has made it quite clear that once the GOP gets into power again, that road will be filled with mud.

University of Richmond Law School Williams Chair Carl Tobias stated, “McConnell has as recently as a week ago said if Republicans take the majority he is going to move the nominees much less quickly.

“The best precedent is the last two years of Obama … very few nominees went through when Republicans captured the majority.”

He added, “Democrats, including in the White House and the Senate, are painfully aware of the possibility that they could lose the majority in the midterms.”

As fast as the pace has been to this point, expect Durbin, the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, to push the pace even more with the possibility of losing the Senate in the upcoming election.

Democrats had the advantage when Trump first came into office not realizing how much nonsense takes place in Congress.

Well, Joe Biden is about to fall victim to that. More importantly, whoever gets the nod by the GOP in 2024, if they win, you better believe they will make Biden’s pace look like a snail facing a stiff headwind.

Above all else, the GOP wants to level off the judiciary, one that leans way too far to the left for anyone’s liking.
