Once again, the White House communications team is telling us what Harris meant to say rather than what she said.
Earlier this week, Harris set the world on fire by saying this administration was caught off guard by the Delta and Omicron variants.
Now the entire administration is doing damage control to clean up her mess.
She Meant to Say…
I wish I had a dollar every time a member of the White House team told us what Joe or Kamala meant to say rather than what they actually said.
The latest mess that is being cleaned up belongs to Harris.
Harris stated that the administration had been caught off guard by the Delta and Omicron variants.
She even dropped Dr. Fauci’s name during her comments.
Harris, in part, stated, “We didn’t see delta coming.
“I think most scientists did not — upon whose advice and direction we have relied — didn’t see delta coming.
“We didn’t see omicron coming.
“And that’s the nature of what this, this awful virus has been, which, as it turns out, has mutations and variants.”
Well, Fauci did the Sunday morning circuit today to clean things up a bit.
The White House has also released a statement on Harris’ comments.
A Harris adviser stated, “The Vice President’s comments referred to the exact kind of mutation.
“The administration knew mutations were possible, it [is] the reason we ordered extra tests, extra gear and extra PPE.”
The White House added, “It is the reason the President, Vice President and our entire administration warned early and often that the best way to get on the other side of the pandemic is to get vaccinated. We were and continue to be prepared.”
So, here is my take…
Either Harris is clueless regarding the actual science here or everyone is lying.
As little respect as I have for this administration and Dr. Fauci right now, I don’t think anyone could be so foolish as to think there would not be variants of this virus.
What I do believe is that the conversations that took place were either way over Harris’ head or she was not there and making stuff up on the fly.
Either way, this is yet another massive loss for Harris, as she continues to cement her place in history as the worst number two we have ever seen.
